A perfectly charming story for the christmas season that will leave you feeling warm and loved.
Two very different men from contrasting lives are brought together by a shared love of books. Lawrence owns the bookstore and Christy is his assistant.
He had stumbled in to the quaint little store and it had become his refuge, Lawrence his saviour from a harsh reality.
He was belittled and beaten at every turn by a vile stepfather but Lawrence had given him a job, fed him and helped as much as he could.
There is an attraction on both sides but the older man is reluctant to take advantage. When things go from bad to worse for the young man, it's Lawrence who comforts him....
Such a well written, thought out story and I didn't want it to end. This is one of my favourite christmas reads this year.
